The County of Roanoke posts notice of all bids, RFPs, and addendums on our website (See Below).

Vendors may receive notification of bids and RFPs by either registering with the County or by subscribing to the email notification system.

Notification of addendums will only be issued through the email notification system. It is the responsibility of all bidders to subscribe to the notification system to receive notices of addendums
.  Submission of incorrect contact information on this site may render your bid submission invalid if we are unable to contact you with addendums.

A PRE-BID MEETING WILL BE CONDUCTED AT THE SITE
: Interested bidders should meet on the site at the intersection of Mason's Crest Trail and Mountain Spring Trail on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 9:00 AM.  This meeting is mandatory. Only the Offerors that attend the meeting will be allowed to submit a BID.

ALTERNATE PRE-BID MEETING LOCATION:
 Weather permitting the Pre-Bid meeting will take place at the work site. However, if it rains on Thursday, July 9th or is raining the morning of Friday, July 10th, 2009 the alternate meeting site for the pre-bid meeting will be at  Roanoke County Administration Center - 5204 Bernard Drive SW - 4th Floor Training Room - directly to the left as you exit the elevators on the 4th floor.  Meeting will begin at 9:00 AM.

Specifications are on the drawings which are available for pick-up in the Purchasing Office, 5204 Bernard Drive SW, Suite 300-F, Roanoke, Virginia 24018-0798. Cost for the plans is $25.00 per set and is non-refundable.  Please call ahead to assure availability of drawings.  (540-772-2061 ext 311)

CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN CIRCLE WATER & SEWER PROJECT

A  MANDATORY  PRE-BID  MEETING will be held at the site on July 14, 2009 at 10:00 AM.  Only the Offerors that attend the meeting will be allowed to submit a BID.

Directions to the Site Location:    Take right off of Route 24, 0.5 miles past William Byrd High School onto Chestnut Mountain Drive, then travel 0.4 miles and then turn right onto Chestnut Mountain Circle, then proceed 0.1 miles to dead end were project is located.

construction of new south county library

A PRE-BID meeting will be held on July 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Library Headquarters Building, 3131 Electric Road (Rt. 419), Roanoke, VA 24018.  Although the meeting is not mandatory, it is highly recommended.

Complete bid documents may be obtained on a deposit /return basis from: TRASCO Technical Reproduction Company- 128 West Kirk Avenue, Roanoke, VA., 24011 (540-345-1533).  Addenda will be distributed by TRASCO or the County of Roanoke if necessary.  Deposits for Bidding Documents will be $200.00 per set made payable to the County of Roanoke. Non-refundable fee for shipping and handling will be $25.00 per set made payable to TRASCO.  Deposits will be refunded for sets of bidding documents returned to TRASCO in good condition within ten (10) days after bid opening.

If you do not currently subscribe to receive notifications, please go to the above site and subscribe to the categories you are interested in with the following instructions:

  1. Click on the link titled “Login/Get Account” and enter the requested information
  2. In the column labeled “Email from Category” select “Bids and RFP's-Only (notification only)” and/or “Bids and RFP's-Addendums Only (notification only)”
  3. Click the button labeled “Submit Access Request” at the bottom of the page

Once you have established an account and selected the items for which you wish to receive email notification, you will be notified via the contact information that you have provided. Once you receive notification of a bid, RFP, or addendum, you will need to visit the Purchasing website to download the document. Incorrect contact information entered may render your bid submission invalid if we are unable to email a notice of addendums, etc.

Please note that for construction projects if a deposit is required, the check will be returned only if you bid on the project and the plans and specifications are returned in good condition.
